Highlights of this budget include:<br /><ul><li>A continuing commitment to compensating our staff fairly, with a goal of bringing all eligible staff up to the mid-point of the recommended salary range by 2013, as recommended by the Personnel Committee.</li><li>Funding for the overhaul of the church web site, which is currently under way.</li><li>Maintaining our historic commitment to the Unitarian Universalist Association and the Joseph Priestley District by remaining a full, "fair share" congregation.</li><li>Increasing property expenses to cover anticipated increases in utility expenses and use of outside contractors. Please note that approximately $4,000 of unbudgeted funds will be drawn from our General Reserve Fund to pay for renovation of Fellowship Hall during the summer of 2010.</li><li>We have maintained most other items of income and expense at the current (2009/10) levels.</li></ul><b>It is important to note that under this proposed budget, there will be an anticipated revenue shortfall of nearly $26,000.</b> We currently hold funds in our General Reserve Account totaling approximately $66,000. The shortfall may be paid out of the Reserve Funds. However, the Board has asked the Lead Minister, who in turn has charged the Stewardship Ministry Team, to propose a plan by August 15, 2010 for restoring a balanced budget in future years. This plan will include a recommendation on how best to fund the shortfall in this proposed budget.<br /><br />A budget hearing open to all congregation members will be held at noon on Sunday, May 16, one week before the congregational meeting.
